The mix is chunky, light, and drains well so I don’t have to worry about overwatering and the issues that come along with that. I had a bunch of propagations in water that needed to be transferred to soil, and some more mature plants that needed a repot, so I bought a few bags of Imperial Roots. All of my plants acclimated to this soil so well, and are now thriving! I also love that the packaging is resealable (and cute!) as a huge bonus for storing between repots. 10/10 recommend!

The quality of this potting mix is top notch. Our mix uses a premium blend of coco coir, coco chips, pumice, calcined clay, worm castings, inoculated biochar and mycorrhizal fungi—giving your plants aeration, drainage, and nutrition in one bag. It’s designed to help prevent root rot and support healthier, more resilient roots.

What kind of plants is this mix for?
This potting mix is ideal for tropical plants such as those you would typically keep as houseplants. These include but are not limited to: monstera, philodendron, pothos, hoya, bird of paradise, dracaena, begonia, maranta, syngonium, alocasia and more.

Will this mix reduce the risk of root problems?
Our mix promotes excellent drainage and airflow, helping prevent the waterlogged conditions that often lead to root decline. While no soil can guarantee outcomes, our blend is specifically formulated to support long-term root health.
How often should I water when using this mix?
You’ll likely water our mix slightly more frequently than dense store-bought soils (because this one breathes!). Always water when the top 1–2 inches feel dry.
Because watering frequency is dependent on the plant's environment, amount of sunlight it receives, volume of soil it's in and time of year, you’ll learn how to adjust your specific plant's watering needs over time.
Can I use this mix straight out of the bag?
Yes! No extra amendments needed. It’s fully ready-to-use for repotting.
